My name is Jasmin Alexandria.
I was seven, laying out the collected assortment of shells and bits of sea glass when I admitted to my father that I’d open a jewelry store one day.
But it wasn't until late 2009, that my creativity and desire for innovation reignited my passion for jewelry. One evening, at the height of my boredom, I deconstructed a pair of art deco earrings and opened the flood gates to a world I had admired for so long. My statement earrings were an innovative fuse of elements that made up my heritage: Mexican, Aztec, Cherokee, Jamaican, Portuguese, Barbadian, and French Canadian. Blending turquoise stones, with brass gold-plated wire, natural hued feathers and remnants of chain. Held in those unlikely collected parts was a pathway to live out my dream...
My self-taught techniques and abstract designs got me into Savannah College of Art & Design’s, Metals and Jewelry program, and though my time there was spared, I fell more in love with the journey that was slowly unfolding through my art. I moved back to Los Angeles with redefined skills and a keen sense for design, color, and form.
